Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of southern Ontario, including Peel Region.
The statement warns of rain, heavy at times, along with mild temperatures today.
The Credit Valley Conservation Authority has issued a flood outlook statement warning that the warmer conditions, combined with the forecasted rain and deep snowpack remaining across the watershed will likely cause significant snow melt.
“This melt will result in runoff with the greatest flows occurring yesterday and today,” it added.
Environment Canada’s special weather statement said residents of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon can expect rainfall amounts of up to 25 millemetres.
