Caledon’s push to get GO Train service is one step closer to reality.
The Ontario PC’s say they will support the construction of GO 2.0, including the Bolton Line, if re-elected.
“The prioritization of the Bolton Line in GO 2.0 is a tremendous win for the residents of Caledon,” said Mayor Annette Groves in a press release. “The Bolton Line will transform the lives of residents who commute south, attract new businesses and top talent to our town, and allow us to meet our growth goals through innovative, integrated, people-oriented development.”
Over the last year, the town has rezoned 12 parcels of land to unlock 35,000 homes and accelerating advocacy for GO train service to support higher-density development.
“This commitment is an illustration of Council’s continued support to grow Caledon the right way and a staff-led, modern approach to integrated land-use and transportation planning under the leadership of our CAO, Nathan Hyde,” continued Groves. “Nowhere is this more evident than in the Bolton South Secondary Plan, which will give Caledon the density to support GO.”
