The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is asking for the public’s help to locate a Caledon man.
Sunil Ragoonanan, age 44, was released from Maplehurst Correctional Complex by staff on Feb. 3 due to a clerical error. Police say he is aware of this error and has not returned to the prison.
The HRPS is seeking a warrant for the offence of being unlawfully at large and they say Ragoonanan is awaiting disposition for charges related to breaches of his release orders.
He is described as a male with brown skin, black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 foot 1 inches tall with a thin build.
Police believe he may be back in the Caledon area and add if the public sees him, he should not be approached.
Police are encouraging Ragoonanan to retain counsel and contact the HRPS.
