Caledon Provincial Police laid charges during a RIDE spot check, but not for impaired driving.
Just after 1 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 2), police conducted a spot check in the area of Innis Lake Road and Healey Road in Caledon. A vehicle that entered the area was discovered to be operated by a prohibited driver.
A 49-year-old male with no fixed address was charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited under the criminal code, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 6. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
