Environment Canada has issued a snowfall alert for a wide area of the province for Monday, including Caledon.
Caledon’s winter weather travel advisory calls for snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres today.
The advisory warns of “low visibility in areas of heavier snow” and “difficult travel conditions due to snow-covered and icy roads.” The snow event is expected to end Monday night.
“Snow will continue to advance into portions of southern Ontario this morning and become heavy at times this afternoon through tonight,” stated the advisory. “The evening commute will likely be affected in the more populated areas.
“The snow will taper off to flurries late tonight with a risk of freezing drizzle.”
The advisory warned that motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
