The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is asking us to lock our car doors during the holidays.
With the holiday season in full swing, police are reminding residents about the importance of the Lock It or Lose It program. The initiative aims to reduce vehicle theft which is a common concern during the busy shopping season.
Police say that by ensuring that vehicles are always locked, valuables are hidden, and purses or bags are kept close, the chance of theft is significantly reduced. Thefts from vehicles tend to increase during the holiday season, as shoppers leave gifts and other valuables in plain view.
Residents and visitors in the Caledon area are encouraged to participate in this simple yet impactful initiative to ensure a safer, theft-free holiday season.
