Caledon man charged in connection with fatal collision

A Caledon man has been charged with impaired operation causing death after a three-vehicle collision involving a large truck left a woman dead Monday afternoon in Thornhill.

York police say two sedans and a box truck collided around 1:40 p.m. on June 17, in the area of Don Mills Road and Simonston Boulevard.

Police said the driver of one of the sedans, a 33-year-old Toronto woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second sedan sustained minor injuries.

A 55-year-old Caledon man, who police say was driving the box truck, also suffered minor injuries.

York Regional Police say he’s been charged with impaired operation causing death and dangerous operation causing death.
