Caledon was hit with about 30 centimetres of snow over the weekend and its mayor is asking residents to be patient as the cleanup continues.
The town, not unlike any other municipality affected by this winter’s extraordinary snowfall numbers, has received dozens of complaints from angry residents who are frustrated with a perceived lack of maintenance in some areas.
Mayor Annette Groves posted a video on Facebook Tuesday informing residents that town staff were working tirelessly to service sidewalks and priority streets.
“While it can be frustrating to see your street not being plowed immediately, I urge you to be patient and kind as our crews are doing their very best. We are also working with Peel Region to ensure all regional roads connecting to Caledon are plowed to ensure smooth traffic flow.”
Groves added the GTA hasn’t experienced a stretch of consecutive days of snow accumulation in 70 years. She is also asking residents not to park on the street so crews are able to plow and salt quickly.
“Stay safe, and be well,” the video concluded.
