Provincial police in Caledon have laid charges in connection with the first report of a collision that turned into a stolen motor vehicle investigation.
On Feb. 5, just before 6 a.m., police responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Heart Lake Road, near Charleston Sideroad. It was determined the vehicle had been stolen and the driver was arrested.
A 28-year-old with no fixed address has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments.
The accused is being held in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing.
