Former Orangeville mayor Sandy Brown has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate for the Feb. 27 provincial election.
The party described Brown as a dedicated community leader with deep roots in Dufferin-Caledon who is committed to fiscal responsibility, social justice and improving local services.
Brown was Orangeville’s mayor from 2018 to 2022.
“Sandy is a local champion with a track record of putting people before politics,” Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner said in a press release.
“He’s not working for a political party, he’s working for you and I know he will get more done for the people of Dufferin–Caledon.”
During a recent tour of the riding Brown said he will carry on his legacy as a member of parliament.
“As mayor of Orangeville, I delivered for the local community, and I will continue to do this when elected as Dufferin-Caledon’s MPP.”
