Provincial Police in Caledon are asking motorists to not get behind the wheel after drinking after a 50-year-old Dundalk man was charged with impaired driving early Monday morning.
Police say the driver had a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit.
The driver was pulled over after officers noticed a vehicle stopped at a green light at the intersection of Highway 10 and Old School Road.
The accused has a Jan. 2 court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges.
The OPP say they are counting on citizens to help ensure no one in their presence gets behind the wheel if they have consumed alcohol or taken drugs. The Festive RIDE Campaign is also in effect until Jan. 1.
