An early-morning trip to a drive-thru led to charges for a Brampton man.
On May 5 at approximately 5 a.m., Provincial Police in Caledon responded to a complaint from a concerned citizen over the way a vehicle entered a restaurant drive-thru in Bolton. Officers attended and located the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the novice driver had a blood alcohol concentration above zero and stolen licence plates were recovered.
As a result, a 23-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with being a novice driver with a blood alcohol level above zero and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 6 to answer to the charges.
Police are reminding motorists that motorists with G1 and G2 licences are considered novice drivers as is anyone under the age of 22. Those in the category may not consume any alcohol or drug before operating a motor vehicle.
