Parm Chohan considers himself a communications guy.

His career path was certainly not a straight line. But it has been an adventurous journey. Inherently flexible, much as the man himself. Time and again, dedicated and resilient, he has embraced roles in the private, non-profit and municipal sectors. And his strength as a communications advisor remains a common thread.

Parm ChohanBut the long-time Valleywood resident sensed he was not quite “there” yet. Armed with an education focused on communications and public relations and close to 15  years of career experience in related  positions Parm felt he still possessed an untapped talent.

Parm’s resume boasts a Public Relations certificate from Humber College and a Master of Communications Management certificate from MacMaster-Syracuse. He recently bolstered that becoming a Maxwell Leadership-Certified Trainer. He also is a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach.

So after years in the world of communications and with almost 10 years of mentoring, coaching and people development, he officially started his business, Conquer Leadership, in 2021. He is still employed as a Learning and Organizational Development Consultant in the health services sector and used to work at Town of Caledon as a Communications Advisor. However Parm now devotes his free time to helping aspiring and established leaders optimize peak performance through leadership development, team building and coaching.

Parm with group“The training I’ve received not only helped me with public speaking but it also helped me  formalize a leadership development, coaching and consulting practice – Conquer Leadership” Parm explained. “My business allows me to serve more people with greater intention and focus, supporting their personal and professional development. I work with large groups of business owners, corporate leaders and individuals to develop in their leadership presence. This work often changes the trajectory of people’s lives and careers.”

“One of the most important leadership traits is the ability to connect with others. If you can’t connect with your people, what are the chances you’ll have influence and leadership with them? Identifying common ground and cultivating a mindset of asking the right questions at the right time can drastically improve a leader’s ability to build connection.”

Parm ChohanParm feels that his approach is practical and simple. He believes that everybody should be able to learn and apply personal and professional leadership qualities.

“Regardless of where I’ve been, for how long, or whatever the circumstances, I’ve always brought energy, strategic thinking and tactical implementation to achieve results. I’ve always had the ability to communicate, connect and break down complex problems while developing pragmatic solutions. I look forward to helping people discover and conquer their potential!”
